  The BIT Mesra campus has been abuzz with excitementall year With 50 glorious years in its kitty, the golden jubilee celeberations of the institute are truly on. Indeed , the brainchild of late Mr. B.M. Birla -who founded this institute in 1955 on a sprawling '780-acre'campus overlooking the confluence of the Jumar ans Subarnarekharivers.-has grown into a major centre of technical educationin eastern India.The Placement record is above 90 percent.
• But the instiute is not on all-work regimen. There's alot of scope for fun and and games too.The main campus hasseparate cricke and football fields, an athletic track, a state-of-art indoor stadium and a gymnasium.
• The annual festival is known as BITOTSAv.
